I want to offer my input on working from home and I am talking about a career change that can change your financial future. Every time I hear people looking to work from home they are talking about a typing position, assembling products, etc. and then most of the time they find that they are scams. Now I know when people hear MLM they think scam and for very good reason, because a MLM company is easy to start when someone can practically start it out of their basement then enroll agents nationwide. There are legitimate MLM companies and if you really want to work from home then you need to give the industry a serious look, but most require an investment. The key to choosing an MLM company you need to check the product or service they offer to see if it has a high demand in the marketplace. The company needs to provide great customer support and agent support. A MLM company needs to have staying power and three to five years or more should show that they are probably legit.

What puzzles me is when people look for a way to work from home most people overlook the direct selling companies and that is key because it will be a sales position. I mean a company is not going to need you to turn your house into a manufacturing plant. They are looking for sales people to bring in sales and most of these positions do not require an investment.

Here are some industries I have looked and you can find out for yourself on Craigslist, Backpage, etc.

1. merchant payment services
2. commercial finance broker
3. staffing industry
4. equipment leasing
5. factoring for businesses
6. mortgage financing (check state licensing requirements)
7. company resellers

The list goes on and on. Yes, I know this is all sales but that is all that is out there. I think the biggest scam people need to worry about is believing when working a regular job that you can depend on them to be able to retire at a decent age. In today's economic condition we all are going to be working longer because your 401K is disappearing and which means you will not be able to retire as soon as you thought. I recommend finding a good company to work for part-time until you are able to quit your full-time job if you want to. You need to find a company that pays residual income which is a great way to grow your income because you are paid over and over again off of one sale. The companies I listed above do just that and the legit MLM companies do the same. Insurance companies are a prime example of earning residual income and they are not MLM. These are not get rich quick schemes and so once you find a company you will have to put in your time and effort and it will be worth it. Just stick with it.

As a christian I hate to see families struggling and being taken advantage just as we all were with the mortgage financial meltdown. There are alternatives and in my opinion it is in the sales arena which alot of people say they are not a sales person, but if you lost your job what would you do? I never thought I could do sales either, but the key is to offer a product that is in high demand and that you would use yourself.

Well I will get off my soapbox now, but I hope I have opened some people's eyes. The internet is a great source for sales opportunities. Now as for me I have two businesses that I do from home and yes one of them is a MLM. I enjoy doing them both.

The main thing is pick a company and do your due diligence and set a goal to give it an honest chance. It will take time but stick with it.

Best of luck!
