We (at LovePath International) have put together a "Love Quiz" based on Dr. Sternburg and Joe Beam's research on love, commitment and passion in marriages. I hope the script works correctly. Please let me know if it works right and what you think of the quiz and results. The web address is www.lovepathinternational.com/quiz.php

Please share it!

It works right. Sneaky way to try to sell a book! :)

My score was 15.  That's as low as one can score.  Of course, I am not married and I have not dated in over 12 years.

Pretty interesting.

You might want to clarify #6 & 8, though.  Or maybe I just look at things differently.

6. I expect my love for _ to last for the rest of my life.

8. I cannot imagine another person making me as happy as _ does.

Obviously, the love feeling is going to have it's ups and downs over the course of a marriage.  And, I don't expect my husband to make me happy-that's not his job.

But I bet it'd be a good way for couples contemplating marriage to start talking about what matters.

I scored 128   .

 Mine was a 126! Good point's about not becoming overly confident and keeping in mind there is room for growth.

KMV,

I understand what your saying about feelings of love. That particular question is one that measures passion. Passion does go up and down over the course of a marriage and that has been taken into consideration with the test results. The other two parts that give us a good indicator of the relationship's lifespan are commitment and intimacy.

This particular test has been used in many doctorial finals and is considered one of the most scientific out there.

Oh, I see.

I was seeing it from the women's magazine, 'waiting on Prince Charming', love-is-something-you-fall-into idea that WAY too many women have.

That attitude is so harmful to women, and I see it so often it really drives me nuts.

KMV,

I hear ya. Not just women, my brother has dated lots of girls and ends up breaking up with all of them because they aren't "the ONE."

What ever happened to "growing" in love with someone. It seems to me that if you can "fall in love" with someone the second you see them, you can fall out of "love" the second they disappoint you.

But at the same time, we all know that you can be attracted to someone's looks, personality, etc. at first sight.

Ain't "love" grand?

133.  Though the first year we could have killed each other.

I feel terrible.  I have the lowest score of all.  And everyone else is blowing the curve.  I guess I've just lost that loving feeling.

130.  I am truly a blessed lady to have such a good marriage especially second time round. God is so good to me.

Imabear

I don't give out my phone number. Sorry.  I often work nights and like to minimize interruptions to my sleep.

Okay... did I take a different test?  I did not get an accumulative score... but I got a message saying based on my score I could teach the book and help others.  What does that mean?
