Apologies if this was already mentioned (especially in the stellar thread on Letterman), but I didn't see it...

Quote"Gov. Palin announced over the weekend that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. And you thought John Edwards was in trouble before! Now he has really done it." -- "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," 9/2/08

Not one thing funny about that trash talk.   I've toned down my language, you all don't want to hear how I really feel. ::frown::

Jimbob

Sounds more like Leno on John Edwards.

true.  probably should have titled it something more like "Leno also told crude joke involving Palin's daughter."

So glad Leno is gone.

He's not gone.  The last word was that he is moving to a new show in prime time.

But I watch other things at that hour (namely stuff recorded earlier) so little chance of me seeing him again. It is all about me. :)

Truthfully is it really right to laugh at anyones expense. I watched Leno, when Brittney Spears, did her MTV thing last year. They were laughing at her weight ( swhe looked good to me) anyway, I laughed too. I then watched a True Hollywood story about her, and felt sorry, for her that she is so screwed up. I felt conviction for laughing at her, with Leno. Bebo Norman had the same revelation, wrote a song called Britney, I was reading, he was convicted for laughing also.
As believers maybe we should be more holy in what we watch, or atleast, I should. I never liked SNL for that reason. Someone Mentioned in a earlier thread Chelse Clinton, I do remember, and was sad, and mad. To call her ugly? she was thirteen what a mean thing to do. Does laughter always have to be at someone elses expense?

I think you're right.  So much of today's entertainment centers around exploitation of real people, from "reality" tv to infotainment shows about celebrities.  I'm not sure Christians should take part in this--but I confess that sometimes I do.

Well, I will not throw the first stone marc, but, hopefully I will make better choices.
