We rented this movie last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised. It was sad of course, but had a good story and a surprise ending. I would recommend it, except for the British accents of the German folks.

We kinda overloaded with Nazi related films. We also succumbed and rented Valkyrie. It was easily the best Tom Cruise film I have seen.

I agree on both counts, Boy was very well done and a very thoughtful yet sad ending

Tom Cruise did very well in Valkyrie

In both the Holocaust story was told from a different and more thought provoking viewpoint

Saw both of those, too, folks.  Now I have The Black Book, another Nazi type film.  TBITSP most certainly had a surprise ending.  In fact, I could see us even adopting a child if he was like that little boy in those striped pajamas.
