Actually, they are correctly in line with the scriptural text... they text gives me all the understanding I need.

Like I said before.. the RCC is just a replacement for the old pagan Roman system of Gods and sacrifices.. only the names have changed.

Even on the cross he refered to his mother as 'woman'.

Quote
25Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," 27and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Like I said, Mary was just the right woman at the right time that said yes... to fulfill OT prophesy.  It was a great honor for her, but it does not make her any different from any other woman that has ever lived in the eyes of God.

You really have no understaning at all.  But then as I have said before there is no room for the Mother of God in the reduced Christology of modern Protestants.

Cop out... figured.

No cop out but we would need a lot of time to go through all this and I don't think you are the slightest bit interested in learning anything anyway.

Why would we need a lot of time when Mary is rarely spoken of in scripture?

List the scriptures... research the context.. determine the meaning.

If you have to go outside of the bible then I am not interested in discussing your human invented dogma..

I've learned all the Holy Spirit inspired scriptures have to say... why would what you would want me to learn be different?

Even before Christ was born, she was honored by heaven when the Archangel Gabriel appeared and said to her: "Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" (Luke 1:28). Holy Scripture further proclaims of her that "henceforth all generations shall call me blessed" (Luke 1:48).

Holy Scripture strongly disagrees with you.

That doesn't disagree with anything I have said to this point...  I have no problem acknowledging that Mary was blessed.. but that is as far as it goes.

It's interesting (and telling) that you skipped 20 verses to make your point though..

I also have a problem with you calling the scriptures Holy... obviously you haven't read your scriptures much.

For God alone is Holy... and the scriptures are not God.

Quote
"Great and marvelous are your deeds,
     Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
     King of the ages.
4Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
  For you alone are holy.
  All nations will come
     and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed."

Tantor, I wrote this piece for the "Why Is America Called A Christian nation" thread, but I guess you missed it?

America has always been Freemasonic and full of Humanist greed.  However, there is light shinning over the southern horizon.  It's coming from the direction of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe the Patroness of the Americas.  The migration of Catholics into North America has been awesome.  The Catholics how out number all other denominations combined, and they are growing at an awesome rate.  We are talking about hard working people with large families.  Here in California these people do all the work while we whites sit back and relax.  Remember, Our Lady specifically focused on ending abortion. Give it another 20 years, and America will finally be a true Christian Nation. It wont be George Washington, it will be Saint Juan Diego.

Tantor

Lets see... Mary was blessed... but just a quick search of scriptures... the following people were also blessed.

Noah
Abram
Isaac
Jacob
Israel
Jael
Samson
Obed-Edom
David
Mary

Irrelevant.

If anything, I would seek God in the minority.. not the majority as the bible says.

Tantor,

I have met your sort before on forums. All they want to do is throw in stupid comments like

Like I said before.. the RCC is just a replacement for the old pagan Roman system of Gods and sacrifices.. only the names have changed.

They hope to bait Catholics into an angry response but have no actual interest in debate.

Of course, I could be completely misunderstanding you, and you may have a burning desire to know more about Catholicism, but from your comments so far I doubt it.

Tantor,

Jesus Christ is not the God of Freemasonry, and you know it.  Please stop spreading venom in the Catholic Section of the Forum.

Tantor

Freemasonry.... did I ever say anything about freemasonry?

I don't hope to get an angry response.. I just hope to open your eyes... because if your eyes never open there is no hope for you.

Given the size of the RCC.. it's impossible that it leads to the narrow gate.  There are many that call Jesus Lord... but he will turn his back on you and say depart for I never knew you.

There goes that theory....and that is just starting with Genesis.  Shall we list all of the things besides God that the Bible calls "Holy"?  There are allot of them.

Because God alone deems what is Holy.. only he has that right.

It is nonsense for man to take away that right from God.

Is not God's Word, "Holy"?   Your saying God is holy, but His Word is not?  You've lost me, Tantor.  That belief holds no water with any Christian tradition that I can think of.

In your opinion.

You provide no evidence for such a view.

Please quote scripture.

Because the bible is hearsay... it's taking someones word for it.  God never promised to preserve his scriptures and we know there are problems with various NT bible chapters.

If it were truly Holy, God would have taken a lot better means to preserve it.

It's interesting that even at it's most basic level.. the Catholic Church has failed in it's mandate to teach what the Apostles taught and carry the tradition forward... of all the sources of tradition.. the scriptures are without a doubt the most important.. and they did such a horrible job of maintaining it throughout the centuries.

It;s sad.

You are like doubting Thomas.
