Father General Adolfo Nicolás. What is his roll in the Catholic Church?

Is his roll important today?

The first Father General.

He was beatified and then canonized and received the title of Saint on March 12, 1622.

He died in Rome on July 31, 1556 as a result of the "Roman Fever," a severe case of malaria that recurred in Rome, Italy at different points in history.

Revelation 14:12 (New King James Version)
12 Here is the patience of the SAINTS; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

a. He is not, nor was not, a "Pope", i.e., the chief Bishop of the Church.

b. He is canonised, i.e., declared by the Church to be a "Saint". All the Christian faithful are "saints", but the Church through it's authority, designates certain people who's lives are worth emulating due to that person's life of faith, their virtuous example, of turning away from self and to God to such an extent that they merit such designation.
