How are "top threads" decided?

Hi there guys and gals,

perhaps I don't clearly understand the terms of this forum, so please forgive any presumption on my behalf.

However, based on which threads are located at the top of each 1st page on any random topical discussion (i.e. the "theology forum"), it would appear that the one which has had the most views would be placed at the very top. But I've noticed that a thread that I've started not too long ago has surpassed (in views) one of the second most viewed threads, and yet it has not been "permanently" posted to the top as the others have.

I would appreciate knowing why this is the case, and if it is by any chance related to personal bias toward either myself or the topic, please feel free to share that with me. But if my previous understanding is correct, you must know that this tactic is unfair and only a clever way to dismiss those regarded as "undesirables". Again, if I am wrong about this, please forgive me. I just ask that you do unto others as you would have them do unto you, particularly as you can see for yourselves that it obviously IS a "hot topic" issue.

BTW, I'm referring to the thread entitled "God OR money"? in the theology section.

Thanks for your time and consideration in this matter.

Oh yeah, this reminds me of a famous quote regarding freedom of speech:

"I may not agree with anything you say, but I will defend your right to say it, even if it costs me my life".

In Christ's peace and love--

Topics are listed in time order, from the most current replies to the least.

If your topic has fallen down the list, it's because no one has responded to it.

A mod can make a topic sticky - that is, put it at the top of the list indefinitely - though that is primarily reserved for informational posts that have to do with the admin of the board.

Hey brother, the thread at the top of the page is in order of the last post. For instance when you post on your own thread it automatically goes to the top again excluding Sticky Threads if any at the very top posted there by moderators as instructions. I hope that helps. God bless you in Jesus' name.  ::smile::
