I was engaged to be married one year ago today. I had to break off the engagement due to some lies I uncovered my ex-fiance was keeping from me. One year later we are not engaged, but rather have been together dating only. She has recently become very good friends with another guy and it's escalated to a point where she has admitted she would date him if we don't work out. She has done a lot of therapy work and I feel is a much better person today than she was a year ago. She is to the point now where she wants to move ahead with her life and wants me either to recommit or let her go completely. I am at a loss of what to do. I love her so much, but still have some reservations but can't imagine living without her. She has lied in the past, kept in contact with old boyfriends, and has financial issues. I believe she has learned a lot and won't continue this pattern. She posted this on her facebook today....1 year ago today my life should have changed forever. What was one of the hardest days of my life has turned into one of the biggest learning experiences I've ever known. A lot changes in a year. So cheers to what could have been. But more importantly, cheers for who I've become as a result of what could have been.
I need to make a big decision and am just looking for some feedback and thoughts for me to think through. Thanks.

Be very, very, careful.

People can change. But they can also think they've changed, or convince you (and themselves) that they've changed more then they really have.

Be very, very, careful.

On top of that. Pray and ask God to break it up permanently if she's not his first choice for you. Trust him on the issue.

Pray, Pray, Pray and let God lead you. That is my advice. Sometimes God allows people out of our lives to take us to another place in him and/or for other reasons. Only he knows, so I say PRAY, PRAY and God will show you what to do..and he will either close or shut the door.

Your biggest mistake was going back in the first place. Why do people continue in relationships that aren't going to work? There is no trust there. Marriage is just going to make that trust magnified 10 fold.

Please move on and stop wasting both of your time.

It is very difficult to find the leading of the Lord when we are in this very pecarious position.
Jesus recommended we not marry ,so did Paul.
If you plan to do ministry or serve the Lord considder the conciquences others have endured with relationships that did not honestly support serving God 100%.
What people say, and how they live ,especially in a romantic environment are usuallly very different things. People make temperary compromises to get something they want, not something they need. to something thay need they perminantly alter their lifestyle with a serious foundation to support it .
If you are hoping you can change them 9 times out of 10 they are hoping to change you.
Human nature is to fall back to sin not to righteousness when tough times occur, they will occur.. don't live in a fanticy world.
