My little predicament

So here's the whole deal.  I'm a senior in high school - the big bad dog on campus.  Well this "big bad dog on campus" likes a freshman.  Crazy huh?  Luckily (or unluckily) enough, she likes me too.  We flirted a bit last year at a football game and have grown to like each other.  I feel comfortable around she and she feels comfortable around me.  Well, her parents would kill her if she went out with a senior (me, unfortunately).  So, a couple weeks ago, we agreed that we should start seeing other people.  It was a mutual agreement of course, but I didn't realize what that would be like.

I've tried to move past her and look more towards other girls, but nothing is working out.  Sure I've got the looks and the muscle to get a girl's attention, but no girl in my school amounts to what she is or how I feel around her.  This weekend is homecoming weekend and, of course, that means the homecoming dance.  Three long hours to dance with your love.  And you guessed it, she can't officially go with me because of parents.

But that's not the worst part.  Ever since we agreed to see other people, she almost shuts me out.  It's pretty obvious that she cares about other guys more than me but every now and again she would start flirting with me.  Such as at Bible Quizzing practice this past Sunday afternoon.  It was her first time, so I showed her the ropes.  When she would get a question right, I would put my hand up to give her a high five but instead of high fiving me, she would shake my hand and make sure she did.  We sat next to each other during all of practice and she didn't mind being close to me.

Well guys, what should I do with this little predicament?  God wants me to live a great life, whether that means pursuing her or not.  I'm most likely going to college out of state, so until we see each other outside of high school, it would be long distance, which I could not do.  Should I even go to the dance?  If I do, I would be tempted to slow dance with her and she wouldn't mind that at all.

So slow dance with the girl....

You are only young once...

I  ain't saying find the back seat of a car somewhere...but what is really wrong with a little dancing...don't get too suggestive with it and all will be good.

You should give up on her.  She won't be available for anything - dates, anything - for 4 years.

If you're still thinking about her in 4 years, pursue the girl.  But I doubt you'll remember her much longer than the summer after graduation.

I didn't know my wife when I was a senior and she was a freshman, but when I was in college and she was a senior in high school... ::nodding::

Well, if you are being noticed because of muscle . . .  ::frown::

I know someone who has seemed like she was flirting with me, at times. And she can be very attracting, but we don't seem to be satisfied together.

If she can be flirting with me, one moment, but not able to enjoy just being with one another, I suppose she does not know where to be. And the confusion I get about her could be because we are not sound and sensible like we need to be, or we would be communicating and enjoying sharing, I would say.

But I know people who can communicate, and I know where I stand with these people. So, why get hung up about someone, if it is not clear where I stand with her ???

Hmm . . . you got attracted to a much younger person; how about someone mature who can communicate? How about someone who isn't looking merely at muscle? We need to be attracting because of what is deeper. So, I need to pray and trust God.

I think it's time to give up on her. :-/

I am a girl, so I know how girls are... There are plenty of fish in the sea, so find one who is allowed to date you, you pays you the attention you deserve, and who is everything you've hoped for.

I've always been told not to waste my time on someone I couldn't see myself marrying. Follow that little piece of advice, and you will be set. :)

This pretty much sums it up:

Quoteso until we see each other outside of high school, it would be long distance, which I could not do.
