Hi HeHealedMe,

We consider divorced people to fall under the single category. Do you not think that's the case? I'm certainly open to your thoughts.

It's hard to explain...Before I got married, I considered myself single, obviously. But after having tasted the married life for many years and then ended up divorced which wasn't even my own choice, it now somehow feels kind of weird to call myself single again. I just don't feel like I am single, at least not the way I used to before I got married...I feel like I don't fit in the single forum nor do I fit in the married forum...I failed during my single life and also failed on my married life...I feel like I don't belong anywhere... :(

I know what you mean.  Us divorced individuals are a unique breed!  It would be great to have our own forum, a safe place to go.  Thank you for bringing this to the admin. attention!

There really is a big difference between single and divorced believe it or not.  Singles have never gone through the trials and tribulations of marriage and then divorce.  It is an experience all to itself and changes lives forever.  I don't see how it could be a "safe place" however and with the "stigma" some Christian Churches place on divorced people, it could prove to be a problem.  But that's just my thoughts, maybe not here.  It is a good idea though.......

So it isn't just my imagination and I am not the only one that feels that way then, Thankfulldad?...I really feel like I don't belong anywhere...
When I was younger, it was so different...I wanted to find a husband to live my life with, to grow old with...but now that I am much older I am not capable of trusting men, they scare me, and I probably scare them because I am divorced!...

It is hard to trust again...I know the feeling.  Finding someone is tough, this world is a tough place.  Then you have the legalist so called Christian that wants to beat the divorced down instead of carry our burden....placing all types of bondage upon us.

Where is the freedom in Christ?

Yes...it would have to be called the (safe place) divorced forum, where we could discuss our struggles and trials in peace...

Thankful, what I meant was I don't see how they could keep people from reading whatever is posted and now that facebook is around, well, whatever would be published there would be available to the world.  This (IMO) would greatly cut down on honest discussions and truly open feelings and rightly so.  No one wants to open themselves up to such a degree with no idea who is reading their posts.  But, that's my opinion only.......sigh........

To me a single person is one who has never been married. Otherwise you're either married, divorced or widowed. As a divorced man, I don't think of myself as single but divorced.
