Very few and far between...just like us men ::smile::

I know many many good women, and also even some good men. lol. I also know many men and women who are a pain. Thats life I guess.

Birds of a feather flock together. How you really are has a lot to do with who you can get together with. And God knows how we really are and who we belong with. I need to get real with God so He can connect me with a real lady of Jesus; but if He has a different plan for me, still getting right makes me able to get with really Jesus-love people for our family sharing. But, of course, Jesus desires that we reach to others, also (Matthew 5:46). So, part of getting ready to discover your wife includes getting better in loving all people.

Mybe a good question is to ask yourself, am i a good man or woman?

Wednesday

Asking if there are any good women or good men out there is like asking if they are any good dogs.  All dogs are good, but it depends on just who their master is that trains them as to how they will turn out.

If you have to ask yourself that question then you are ultimately blind to the reality of a good woman when she graces you with her presence.

Open up a bit more or you'll miss God's choice for you.

Good woman?
Isn't that one of those thingies like Jumbo Shrimp?

Yes. Most men don't know it when they meet one. See my post under "What's up with that?!".

I don't think that's the truth at all. I too wonder if there are any good women out there, but all I ever see is women trying to get attention by wearing the shortest and tightest clothes possible. Wish I could be blind to that reality but it's a little hard when it's everywhere. Sorry but I don't wish to be graced by the presence of a "good woman" that shows cleavage to me and every other guy in the world and wears tight yoga pants that doesn't leave much to the imagination. And your advice is to open up a bit more. What a vague thing to say to someone struggling with this issue. I think the best advice was asking yourself am I a good man or woman, but even still I think it should be am I working on becoming the man God wants me to be, through His help and grace.

And of course a woman is going to make this comment, go figure. Same thing can be said about women, they don't know it when they meet a good one. Women are just as bad as men about this, and they love to say they don't care about looks, what a bunch of crap that is! I would love to meet a woman that actually knows what modesty is; Biblical modesty, not the ever changing, more tolerant version this world puts out there.

For one who takes no control over what his eyes take in, he will miss the Godly woman God sends. There are innumerable Godly women, and they can be found in great, Spirit-filled churches.

None of my Christian female friends dress immodestly. Nearly all the women in my church (of all ages) dress modestly. You need to find the right church.I know many young women who are single, and who are lovely Christian ladies. In fact you should try being female. The choice is far far more limited for female believers than it is for men, especially the older you get.

I think if a man shows Godly authority and good character, some woman will willingly respond. But a lot of woman are in rebellion today and so might take time, to woo her. ::tippinghat::

A lot of men have a skewed criteria  and find themselves on the outs.

Matthew 6:33 is the answer...

Isn't that the same thing?

One must seek the kingdom in order to have Godly character. We know that a house does not land in a mans lap or a woman, but the godly character fashioned goes out and proves itself.

Yes, but rebellion is in both genders.

A Christian needs to ask God to send the right person. Stop doing all the to-ing and fro-ing (striving) to find Mr. or Miss Right and serve God with everything you've got and God will move for you.

What I am also saying is to avoid the pitfall of expecting God to plant the garden for you.

Some people might do all the right things, praying, fasting, feeding the poor, etc . But do not take any steps to gain a wife or a husband.

One man plants and another waters, but God gives the increase.

I am a strong believer in being proactive in finding someone. If I hadn't made the effort to go onto the internet 8 years ago, I would never have met my wonderful husband(,married nearly 6 years now). I get sad when I hear people say that they want to meet someone, and yet do NOTHING to help this situation. God will not send someone round to your house. You will not meet anyone sitting at home on the computer.

Both my son and oldest daughter met their partners on line as well. He just got married to a beautiful Christian girl,  and she just got engaged to a really godly Christian guy.
We all need to make the effort to meet others and get involved with meeting other believers and making friends. Its not all down to Gods effort but ours as well.

Lively Stone

It has been my experience and I have witnessed countless times that when one relinquishes one's continual striving for the thing they desire, and instead seeks the Kingdom and its righteousness in one's life first and foremost, that is the time God will swoop in and present us with that most desired thing!

Showing Him faithfulness in a few things will cause Him to bring the bigger things that require much more responsibility.

Oh so I guess the answer is to go to the U.K. and go to your church?? Yea I doubt that. No I think I'll stick to being a male but why don't you try being a male? Maybe you think they're all dressing modestly but guys are 10 times more visual than gals, I'm sure there are quite a few dressing immodestly at your church as well, you just may not be seeing it. I don't know why you think it's far more limited for female believers, honestly I think that could easily go both ways.

Thought this was interesting, you said "you will not meet anyone sitting at home on the computer", yet that is exactly what you did. You said a few sentences before that, that you never would have met your husband if you didn't go on the internet, kind of ironic lol..

Mr hockey, at my last church many of the women did dress immodestly and that is why we left it eventually, because no one was prepared to say anything or do anything about it. I mean a few women got bapsited in bikinis lol So I am well aware of this problem, The church that we are at now, is much better in that area, no not perfect, but much better.

Yes I did meet my husband initially on the computer, but we did talk on the phone after 2 days and met 2 days after that. What I meant was that we cant expect God to do all the work while we do nothing. A close friends sons are often complaining that they havent got girlfriends (they are age mid 20's) and yet they do nothing and go nowhere to meet anyone. They go to work and come home, and go on the computer, and thats it.
God wont send a person round to our house for us , we all have to do what we can to meet other believers, whether that be at our church or on the internet or doing things that will enable us to meet others.

Al the churches that I have been to have had far more available women than men. When I was on dating sites for 2 years as a women in  my 40's there were about 4 or 5 Christian women for every man on those sites. MY son was 30 when he met his wife on a good Christian dating site, and he said the same, that there are more women than men, although at that age the difference is less. For whatever reason, there always seem to be more women than men in churches. Just the way it is.

mrhockey903

Yea I see what you're saying, if girls were being baptized in their bikinis at my church I would like to think I would leave too.

I think I knew what you meant, it was just that the wording was a bit ironic and funny. I do agree with what you're saying about how we can't expect God to do everything for us while we do nothing. It's a hard concept though I must admit, and not just in the area of relationships. I'm struggling with it trying to figure out how to make a living, career wise. But to go back to the relationship side, it's not exactly easy for everyone to just go out there and do it. I mean yea you're not gonna get anywhere by just sitting home, I completely agree with that, but for some, like me, have a big bout with shyness. I am very much an introvert and most likely have social anxiety disorder or something of the like. I've been dealing with anxiety for many years now and it's no joke. But anyways, I'm just saying it's a little harder for some than others.

At the church I go to the immodesty thing isn't much of an issue in my opinion, however there are 3 services each Sunday so there could be issues I'm not aware of. But of course there are a few, it's not perfect either. I just don't get why women at church feel the need to show off their cleavage or where skirts that are a bit "hey look at me" short. But I realize too that it shouldn't be just at church, it should be everywhere they go dressing modestly.

As for there being more single women than men, I wouldn't have a clue. I'm not involved enough with the church yet to know but to me it seems like almost every woman there has their arm around a guy.

chosenone

My hockey
If your church has three services, then it must be pretty large. I am sure that if you get involved in some things there, maybe mid week groups or helping out, you will make more friends and get to know more ladies there. I do understand about the shyness thing, I was shy when I was younger, and its only as I have got older that I have got more confident. I am still not an extrovert, but that's OK because God didn't make me to be a party animal. lol.
With my own children it was as they did things in life, such as moving away from home and getting involved with more things and people that they got more confident, went to more places, and made more friends. There really isn't an easy way round it, the more time you spend with others the more the shyness will improve.
