Martial Art Religions

Over years I analysing sport activity and like to expose some reality about martial art.


Some people conceder any sport as "idol

I've been training MMA (essentially all martial arts compressed into the most effective forum of fighting) for quite some time now and I just believe in Jesus. That's all.

The word "martial" being derived does not mean that it has pagan influences any more than it means simply that we used a word from another language, that derived it's name for war from one of their pagan gods...  As a martial artist for the past 22 years, I have not once worshiped Mars, or any other deity but God.

Yes, in eastern martial arts there are many eastern philosophical, and even religious, influences.  That doesn't mean that one cannot practice these styles without separating the art from the religions which sprang up in the same areas.  I can easily study kung fu without studying buddhism.

To say that removing the philosophical part from the styles of combat result in a poor quality of combat is absurd.  Maybe you just haven't seen someone who can fight...  Sure, there are times when you need to know the difference between hard styles and soft style (yin and yang) or other aspects which these styles focus on as part of their religions, but knowing something doesn't mean that you consider it to be your religion.
