Ah, hockey, now there is a real sport.  With only four teams remaining who is your pick to take home the Cup?  I'm a long time Buffalo fan and think this just might be the year.  Go Sabres!

spurly

I don't even know who is left in the playoffs.

James Rondon

Weeble

Hurricanes against the Sabers

Ducks against the Oilers

My pick is the Hurricanes against the Ducks with the Hurricanes winning in 5.

marc

Does Bob McAdoo still play for Buffalo?  Randy Smith?

Oops.  Wrong thread. ::alien::

I don't watch hockey.  The players earn too much money.   ::thankyouthankyou::

Let's see, hockey.  I seem to recall a sport by that name once.   ::pondering::

I think it was King Philip who destroyed it so he could grab the wealth.  Or maybe that was the Knights Templar.  Anyway, I know greed on both sides killed off much of the fan base.

Bon Voyage

I'm not a hoser, eh.  So even, though I lived up north on the border, I don't really care much for the hokey, eh.

But Spurly how many Hockey players get shoe, McDonald's, Coke, or Wheaties endorsements?

I do, but only Division III...   ::lying::

Ah, how sad.  You poor, ill-informed, out of touch, sports fans wannabees.  Well, there is hope for you yet.  Go to nhl.com, read the sports page, watch the Stanley Cup playoffs on OLN and NBC.  Enter the realm of the sports enlightened!  I bet you guys don't follow curling either.  Come on, really!

James Rondon

Actually, if I see curling on the tube, I usually watch it.

Weeble

The Hurricanes against the Oilers.  They both looked very good and the Hurricanes looked great last night in the 3rd period and overtime. Tough call but I am picking the hurricanes (Southern bias)

kanham

Isn't there a book about the Stanley Cup? Isn't it Mary Magdalene?

twd

No, it's her descendants.

parson6

Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals is tonight.  My beloved Sabres are hanging in there.  This series has been particularly exciting, neither team was even picked to make the playoffs when the season began.  Now they are playing a hard fought game.  Go Sabres!

Weeble

Carolina is up 2 games to 0 and it is looking like it is time to get the brooms out!

twd

I didn't realize they were curling.

parson6

With Roloson out I don't think Edmonton has a chance - indeed, get the brooms out.

Dennis

Well I'm betting against a sweep.

Weeble

Who would have thought that you would have sandbagged in the Cup finals.  Can anyone sing "O Canada"?

marc

Carolina's up 2-0 in game seven.  I haven't watched hockey in a while; there's only one player on the ice I've even heard of.

marc

Okay, so there were others (such as Chris Pronger) who I'd heard of, but if asked before the game to name who was on what team, Brind'Amour is the only player I could have come up with.

tidbit

I bet the Canadians are hacked off that a team from Dixie won the Ice Hockey title.  That's just wrong, eh?

A team from my state won the Stanley Cup.  That's only natural since virtually all of us here in NC were raised on ice skates.  Mmm hmm.

Actually, I've not heard word one from anyone around here about it.

parson6

This was a good hockey season, very much needed after the lock-out of a year ago.  The last two Cups have gone to southern teams - Tampa Bay and now Carolina.  Me, I would have prefered to see Buffalo win it all, but then there is always next year!

Weeble

Hockey in the South, you gotta love it.  Now if we can teach those folks to stay off the rink, the ice down there is for skating not cooling off Sweet tea!

Bon Voyage

Sweet Tea is a drink concocted by Satan, himself.  Satan often perverts something good like Iced Tea and makes a small addition, which makes it evil.  He does it with doctrine, and he did it with iced tea.

Weeble

Jerry I didn't know you were a Sadducee?

They couldn't have sugar in their tea that's why they were "sad you see!"

Bon Voyage

Not a sadducee but I do believe that sweet tea is an abomination.

So you like Ice in it so it is not a question of temperature.  So it must be the bitter factor. SO do you drink UN-Sweet Brewed tea, or do you drink sun tea?

But please don't tell me you drink fruit tea.  That's not tea that's just wrong.

Cold un-sweetened sun tea or cold unsweetened brewed tea is what I drink.  No fruit, no sugar or sugar substitutes.
