I seem to have developed a crush on a guy at work.

Now, how the heck did this happen???

*sigh*

And no, I don't think he is a Christian.  Oh well, keep you updated if anything funny or story-worthy happens.

Sheesh.

You have already received good advice but how do you apply it?,

Absolutely First( Not that you Haven't!!!) Pray that your heart is Not taken against Gods Will, as Satan's Camp includes Any whom have Not accepted Christ as the Saviour and True God Harsh But true:-

Lu 11:23  He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

Better to have increased Brotherly an Sisterly Love such as here! than to fall foul of a Plot made in Dark Places!!!, Please test the said Man as to weather He is Openly curious toward Christ or closed minded in this respect, the Present Dark master of the Present World System will have you fall by any means, Sorry to be a Party Pooper!!! and I really Hope for you he is the One, Thank you for Sharing.

Even if someone is a Christian, this does not mean she and I belong with each other for romance and marriage.

We see how there is the "fifty-percent divorce rate" in the United States. I'd consider that quite a number of those broken couples fell in love with each other and even showed their kids that they would always so love each other, but then they dashed those children's hope and trust by then turning on each other.

So, there is "love" witch is dangerous and may be a thing of pride which brings a fall. Ones in pride boast all they will be for each other; they boast what they judge to be true of one another; they are boasting how reliable they are to judge one another to be so great and wonderful, etc. This is judging and boasting; and pride brings a fall and destruction.

"When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom."
                  (Proverbs 11:2)

"Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall."
           (Proverbs 16:18)

We need to not boast ourselves to be so reliable, but trust God to guide us about who He knows we belong with.

Just because we feel so charmed, this does not mean we are safe. Bait in a trap can taste and feel so good.

And, I would get more into sharing with a variety of really Christian people, not only birds of my own feather . . . of my age and interests . . . but with seniors, widows, widowers, a mature pastor with his wife, etc., so we get to know how love really is in our Jesus Family. I personally have discovered how God's love is so better and more real than the "love" I can fall in with some one person and this isolating us from the others.

I'd say that love in a Christian marriage will be fed by the love coming from our others in Jesus' church. And ones more mature than my lady are going to be more like Jesus so we both appreciate them more than each other, since these more mature ones are more like Jesus whom we appreciate more than each other.

For Pete's sake there Comfy,
No need to write her a book on the subject. I would bet a good deal that she knows better than to get involved with a co-worker. Bad karma on many levels exists here & she already knows that.

Oh, John . . . so maybe you think I took her a little too seriously. I do tend to miss how people are joking . . . especially when it is subtle.

But . . . for pete's sake . . . ones of us Christians can do what we know better than to do ::smile::

Maybe not you, but . . .

JohnDB

Oh yeah?
Like anyone and everyone there are times that I know better but don't do better.

But there are some mistakes that we don't make ever again.
I can't/wont make the mistake of dating a non-believer ever again.

fassopony

You all need to whoa!!  WOW!!  I am not exactly the silly little girl fall in love type LOL!!!  FYI, just having a little crush on someone does not entail wedding bells and devil inspired plots.

He is smart, funny, a great leader at work and handsome.  I have a good work relationship with him, maybe it might progress to a friendship.  After that, who knows?

I am 39 and never married, no worries that I would fly off the deep end and jump into anything with someone without a lot of thought and prayer rofl

John, I have never dated anyone at work but good point.  Another funny thing, my pastor spoke on forgiveness, grace and how we as Christians treat non believers.  He also brought up a Christian gal who dated a non believer who got saved right before they married.  I forgot the guys name, some mafia guy and the gals name is Camille?  Good stuff, and with God leading, anything is possible.

Why would a Christian want to entertain the notion of a romantic relationship with an unbeliever?  ???  The matter seems pretty simple to me.  I say keep your distance.

Actually, this happens all the time to Christian people who vowed "that will never happen to me."  Your "rofl" is disturbing.

Yup.   ::disco::  But this kind of argument is no excuse for dancing so close to the fire.  Will you get burned?  Maybe not.  But to me it's not worth the risk.

fassopony

Thanks for sharing, Stevehut.

Think I'll go write a paper on the difference between mountains, molehills and perspective ;)

Seva

My opinion, definitely be friends first. Look at the scenarios in the now as if he never changes, not what he might be. He could change, but be friends only until that happens.

bayou boy

Try saying praise the Lord whenever you are around him.If he replies with praise the Lord, say thank you Jesus. If he says thank you Jesus, then say glory to God.If he then jumps up and down and yells I love Jesus,he might be a Christian.

Ask him who is Justin Bieber. If he says Justin WHO? He might be a Christian.  ::crackup::

John . . . never happen again??? I am hoping and praying that never again will I get involved with a lady without making sure with God.

So, now when I get a crush, I am also praying for how God will have me become in His love more and better, so I can go where He takes me.

This has gotten me away from romance, but into better love than I was hoping to get in romance ::smile::

"Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You." (Psalm 63:3)

Fasso Pony, I would say you can get involved with someone where you work, but this would need to be how God leads. And "the husband is head of the wife," we have in Ephesians 5:23, "as also Christ is head of the church". I'd say it's kind of hard for a non-Christian man to be the head of a lady the way Jesus is the Head of the church.

Whenever I get attracted to even a Christian sister, it helps in prayer to take a look at whether or not God is making me become her "head" . . . or if she is controlling quite a lot, and not exactly, "submitting to one another in the fear of God." (Ephesians 5:21) ::smile:: I have noticed how "attraction" can be used to control; I won't say a Christian lady would knowingly use attraction for controlling a man, but Satan can use it.

And, of course, yes you may know this, but we have guest readers, here, who might benefit from us sharing what we may already know.

Also, I think of how Peter boasted to Jesus, Himself, how Peter would go with Jesus "both to prison and to death." (in Luke 22:33) Yet, Peter then denied Jesus three times. So, I find I need to not be boasting that I could never get with the wrong person because of not making sure with God. I am not perfect; so I question how much I am wise to trust myself. God is the One who knows.
