Rango

Went to Rango tonight, with the kids.  This movie was definitely not made for kids.

There's quite a bit of dialogue in this movie that addresses adult topics, or makes adult jokes.  It isn't about sex, so that's not the problem.  But, uh... most kids movies don't raise an existential dilemma, y'know?  Over and over you may find yourself a little uncomfortable looking over at the kids to see if they "got" it.  Thankfully, my kids didn't really pick up anything they shouldn't have.  There are at least 2 psychadelic sequences.

This movie might provoke some difficult questions from tweens and teens.  The rest will be totally over the little ones heads.

My wife and I saw Rango yesterday and we both really like it but it is a cartoon for adults, not kids. Not that it would be bad for kids but I don't think they would get as much out of it as older world-weary adults.
