Which drink do you like best?

Theres two regional soft drinks (or "cokes") in KY that I love.  Ski is made in Greensburg, KY and it was immortalized in the Kentucky Headhunter's song "Dumas Walker"....

"Get a slaw, burger fries and a bottle of Ski
Bring it out to my baby and me!"

The other one I love is Ale 8.... its made in Richmond, KY and when I go to visit Lexington I always stop at the gas station next to the "castle" on Versailles road, to get one on the way to and fro to watching the Cats play.

I know tons of folks that like Sundrop and other drinks made around the south, do you have your favorite?

Er, um, Clifty.  My vote reflects the only drink I have heard of or tasted.  I would actually prefer the new 7-Up Plus with fruit juice.

When I was around eleven, I had a hat that was crocheted, or knit, or some such thing around Big Red cans.

There are a lot of soft drinks I like... some more than others.  But, by far, my favorite always comes back to Coca Cola.  No Pepsi for me... it's gotta be Coke.

Dr. Pepper.

In the six ounce bottles,  and bottled with cane sugar instead of corn sweetener.   The bottling plant at Dublin, Texas is the only place that still does it that way.

You go get your Dr. Pepper out of the machine,  you open the bottle,  then you pour in a package of Tom's Salted Peanuts.
Drink it all down -  it's the breakfast of champions.

Of the list, I'm with Radar, choosing grape Nehi.

Dublin Dr. Pepper is good.  Something about the real cane sugar that's hard to describe, but makes a difference.  Healthier, too.

I also like Orangina, but it's hard to find.  Something about a fight between Coca-Cola and the French owners.  Sometimes the Giant grocery stores around here have it.

Grapico is great with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Vernors (sp?) a wonderful way to show your kids you know how to burp.

From the poll, I picked Grape Nehi, because it's the only one I have heard of and had a chance to drink it. Haven't seen that in years, if it's still available.

My favorite off the list would be, Mountain Dew, if I chose to drink, it's so full of sugar, I rarely do.

In the song, "Dumas Walker," I always thought they were talking about whiskey.  What does Ski actually taste like?

Kinda like a cross between Mountain Dew and Sundrop... its pretty good.

My aunt and uncle who are from Greensburg always bring it to family get-togethers, good stuff.
