I was reading a thread and when I went back a page all the names changed.

All of a sudden "Jimmy" was "Offline Jimmy." My post was under the name "Online DaveW."

Was that on purpose?

a few seconds after posting this and reading the post, the screen jumped and it went back to how it was.

If you hover your mouse over the little green box to the left of your user name you'll see that it says "Online". What you experienced was a slow loading page. Happens to me all the time on satellite internet.

Yeah - I get that. 

But this said the pages were completely loaded and it was that way. In fact I traveled a couple of pages and had to come back to put in the 2nd post. It was completely done and stable and then the whole screen jumped it went back to normal ......

maybe we can blame it on the government shutdown.
