Sexless Marriage - when is it over?

My wife and I have been married for almost 26 years.  It has not been a bed of roses, but it hasn't been bad.  We have not had sex for 5 years now.  It was sporadic before that at maybe once every three months or so, after our first 5 years of marriage.

I can't take simply being roommates.  She avoids coming to bed until I am asleep.  She sleeps in the clothes she wears all day.  Yes, she gained 150 pounds or so and honestly, I don't find her to be sexually attractive.  I am at my wits end.  She won't talk about it, refuses to see anyone and finds plenty of ways to keep me away from her.

It is difficult to understand when sex is not a priority for others.  We go through spells of that with my wife and it can be a helpless feeling.  My only suggestion is to shake things up and try something new, like taking her on vacation or to a new type of restaurant to disrupt the status quo and start down a new path together.
