I'm not good at these but here I am. I'm trying to find my way in choosing what tradition is closest to the first apostles and I've looked in many a forum for advice. I'm now between Southern Baptist, Pentecostal, or Nazarene.
Advice is appreciated since I was raised Baptist but want to find my own way now.

 ::smile:: Welcome to the community.

Jesus is said to have been Nazarene. I'm not familiar with that much of the other two denominations you're considering so as to give advice. We do have forums here where you can investigate their beliefs and practices. This link to the Organized Religions forum has the various denominations listed there in the sub-forum.

God bless your journey.

many churches are close to the original in different ways. I have been to churches of several different denominations, and I have always found the more charismatic type churches the the closest the early church.

Hi John, glad you're Well  Sorry, I have a brother John who uses those words a lot. His middle initial is S.
It is very important to find a church you like, but it will be hard to find one that you agree with every single thing they say. There is a lot of difference between preference, tradition and doctrines, and the main thing to remember is you alone are responsible for your relationship with Christ. Always be true to that fact and enjoy wherever you attend.
Continued blessings.

Thank you all for the advice and the welcome. I'm going to look into that link here and read whats there. I would think a good church is one that makes you feel good inside and like God is there too.

I guess if Jesus is said to have been Nazarene,  then

John was the Baptist,   not sure whether southern Baptist,    and

12  Apostles were pentecostal.     ::smile::

Just have to seek the Lord with whom to fellowship.

Hmmmm .... should we be looking for the First Nazarene Baptist Church of the Pentecostals?  ::shrug::  rofl

There's a mouth full for sure. Think of the sign!  ::giggle::

I'm new too. ::swinging:: And I've also heard that Jesus was a Nazarene.
