You should see a dramatic improvement by adjusting these settings in your Profile admin area...

I've noticed how random it is.

Ya I'm still finding it to be haphazard these days since the site makeover. It's not ruining my life or anything but just bringing that to your attention.

Okay just now there was a reply on a thread I started (I saw a guy with a sign . . .) where notify was definitely checked . . . and I wasn't notified.

I just made some changes to your Profile settings, keep monitoring for a while and let me know if its still a problem...

Yup, once again I had notify checked in a thread I started in the prayer forum and I was not notified. (FYI)

Ok, did a little investigating on SMF support site to see if this issue was a problem with other SMF powered sites... seems that if the owner has limitations on his "hosting" email account it can cause this to happen... I made a small change to his hosting account and let's see if this makes a difference, also keep in mind that with such a high traffic site such as this you may experience delays of several minutes, if you discover the reply before the system has a chance to queue up your notification it will count your discovery as viewed and will cancel the notification... follow?
