others talked about how gullible other Christians are for believing Jeremiah 29:11

So they think God has no plans?  What kind of God do they think he is?

Worthless1992

Chosenone I didn't say that.  I'll read something that doesn't mention He is my father.

Priceless1992, I asked before but you didn't answer...what *do* you want?  In your heart of hearts, what are you looking for?

How about you talk to Jesus then?  I did that for many years before I felt able to approach God as my Father, thats fine, whatever is most helpful for you.  ::smile::

a different kind.

Can't talk to Jesus as He is silent. I'm guessing because of Psalm 66:18.

A different kind of what? Sorry..I'm a bit slow sometimes.

Jesus is silent, but He hears you...

Remember that there are LOTS of other verses besides this one...

What would you like to hear Him say so that you know He hears you?

He is listening believe me. YOU have decided that He wont hear you because YOU think you are too bad. Not true. He has  probably been waiting for ages for you to get back to Him. Read the story of the prodigal son.

relationship. Other verses don't negate this one. I would like to hear Him like others say they hear from Him. I have tried to talk to Him. I would like some kind of sign from Him that He will tolerate me and isn't done with me maybe. God doesn't even have to like me. I just want to know how He feels about me. After He lets me know He doesn't have to look at me again. Just take 2 seconds.

But, He *has* told you these things!

Jeremiah 33:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, evenwhen we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been (**Can be)saved—** my words

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

Zechariah 2:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, "After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Psalm 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

God has said it all in the Bible, in that link I sent you its all in there. I really feel that He wants you to read the story of the prodigal son, and to tell you that He is the Father waiting and longing for you to return to Him, and that He He will welcome you with open arms.  ::nodding:: He wont just tolerate you, He adores you.

Many believers dont hear from Him in that direct way, I dont often hear Him in that way.  He may well be using this forum to speak to you.

I used to believe those verses but now they're just words to me. I know the prodigal son story. It's not something I want, a father relationship. I'm not a child. I'm a woman that doesn't have daddy issues. I know you mean well, but you don't really know if He adores me. Please don't say that.

He SO loves the world and you are a part of that, Priceless.

I am a grown woman too, with a son about your age, actually and I take GREAT comfort in the fact that God is my Father.

God always loved me, always will and I am not special. He loves you like that as well.

He knit you together in your mothers womb, knows the plans He has for you, delights in you (Ps 45:11), waits on high to have compassion on you, will catch your tears in a bottle and keep a record of each one, He will never leave or forsake you, He is faithful and just to cleanse and forgive you.  Its His will that you not perish.
