Hello "saved",

Quotewho was in charge of the building of the tower of babel?

YIKES!!!

Genesis 11  (KJV) speaks:
The Tower of Babel

1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

*********

Judging from the scriptures (Gen. 10 & 11) my friend, "THEY" would have been in charge ... Who would "THEY" be ...

The "prideful" descendents/"sons" of Noah? ::pondering:: ::blushing::

Here's a two part question for ya'll ...

According to scripture, how many songs were authored by Moses in the Psalter? What were they?

QuoteWho was author of book Hebrews?

For some unkown reason, the authorship of the book of Hebrews remains anonymous to us.   Yet, there has been a strong argument/discussion,  towards Pauline authorship ... dating as far back as the the 2nd Century. Convincing evidence was lacking in that theorum even then.

You ROCK "scrappinmom" ... You ROCK!!!  ::applause::

Now the answer to your question ...

"Chemosh"  was the god of the people of Moab.

Who was "Jeroboam"? ???

scrappinmom19

Thank you, Thank you very much! rofl

Jeroboam was the first king of Israel, son of Nebat  ( I kings 11:28, 12:25)
He was placed by Solomon, and built the city Shechem.

What evil king of Judah was killed by his servants?

scrappinmom19

::headscratch::Since this one has been sitting for several days, I'll give a hint!   ::headscratch::

He was a king of Judah, not of Israel.  Good Luck.

janine

(p.s.
here's a good brief link for the section about Jeroboam )

I couldn't remember which king had been killed by his servants, so I had to go look it up.

2 Kings 12:19-22:
Quote... Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?

His servants arose, devised a conspiracy, and killed Joash in the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla.

It was Jozacar son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. He was buried with his ancestors in the city of David; then his son Amaziah succeeded him.

janine

Here's a question:

Who went behind her husband's back to offer hospitality?

mike

Abigail, current wife of Nabal, and future wife of David.

scrappinmom19

::blushing::oops, I forgot that there were two!  I was thinking of Amon
II Kings 21:23, and the servants of Amon conspired gainst him, and slew the king in his own house
::doh::

OTOH, is the answer to yours Abigail, when she went behind her husbands back and gave food to David and his men?

The people of Lystra were so dazzled by Paul and Barnabas that they called them by the name of two Greek gods.  What were the names?

mike

Zeus and Mercury, I think (i'll look it up to double check)

mike

Yep. Zeus (Jupiter)  and Hermes (Mercury) --- Acts 14:12

mike

The first act of biological warfare is recorded in the Bible. What was the incident?

janine

(wandering the memory and the translations re: contaminants...)

mike

Clue:
Think more loosely, regarding biology

mike

Clue # 2: revenge on the Shechemites for a violation
::pondering::

Genesis, for the rape of the child Dinah.  All the living men were killed.

Where is the first case of Halitosis in the Bible?

Sisera, and I'm pretty sure he didn't enjoy it.

When the Israelites took formation under their banners during the exodus, how many tribes were present in total?

Imabear

The obvious answer seems to be 12.  Somehow I think you're looking for another number though.

13.  When they formed up in the desert, there were 3 on each side, and the Levites were in the middle.

There are 12 sons of Israel, but Joseph's sons each became a tribe, making 13 tribes.
There are also 12 territories, because Levi didn't receive a territory.

How many times did the Israelites get water from a rock in the wilderness?

What musical instruments do angels/heavenly beings play or at least "hold"?

The "trumpet" (Rev 8:13, Rev 9:14), though it is really a battle horn made for signalling troops.

Moses and Aaron both ascended mountains before their deaths.  Name both mountains.

Imabear

Moses --- Mount Nebo

Aaron --- Mount Hor

Yep.  Now you're supposed to ask a question.

Going back to my previous question about musical instruments.  The question also had another possible answer.  The book of the Revelation mentions harps as well.  There are references to 24 elders holding harps (5:8), the sounds of harps coming from heaven (14:2),
and finally from Revelation 15:1 "I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God's wrath is completed. 2 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God 3 and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb:
'Great and marvelous are your deeds,
      Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
      King of the ages.
4Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
   For you alone are holy.
   All nations will come
      and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.'"

Sounds like IM to me!  Of course, they were just "holding them" and singing praises.  I guess it would be a bit presumtuous to think they actually were playing the harps. ::eek::

Next question:

What did the Lord ask Isaiah to do for three years as a sign to Egypt and Ethiopia?

BeartheCross

That is found in Isaiah 20:3 that He would unclothe himself and Walk Naked and barefoot for a Sign and Wonder for 3 years.

Which Church spoken in Revelation is The Church that is Most Persecuted against. The Lord tells them however to continue in what they do even unto Death. Which Church represents The Church of Persecution?  ???

The Church at Smyrna

Jesus tells them... "Do not fear what you are about to suffer" Rev. 2:10

And then, The devil is going to cast some of you into prison, vs 10...

He tells them to "Be faithful unto death" vs 10 again ...  They are going to be hunted, persecuted, jailed and killed, for the name of Christ.

QUESTION...
When the Ox almost dropped the Ark of the Covenant, the man who steadied it died. Who was this and where is the account found?

Sweetrainbow

The answer can be found in 2 Sam 6:6-7
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.
7 The LORD's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the ark of God.

Who was the ruler after the death of King Herod that Joseph was warned about in a dream?

kensington

Archelaus...  Matthew 2: 22

What kind of tree was it that Elijah fell under and begged God to let him die?
