I listen to Glen Beck radio when I clean homes, I agree with His politics, (we are both libertarian) but he can be truly scary at times, telling us to buy gold, that our $ will fail, he says store food and water for America will fall like Rome, and recently he said buy guns to protect yourself, for the government will soon find ways to take them.

He believes we are in the "end times".  I have prayed and asked God if I should do the things Beck recamends....not hearing anything from the Holy Spirit, I know it is just smart to have these things for emergency reasons, but we are tight on money.

I was walking in the library the other day, and young man walking out turned to me and with a serious face said "Armageddon is near"....maybe he is crazy, or God was answering my pray.

Would love to know what all you think, and believe the Holy Spirit is sharing with you.

Also will anyone be watching Glen Beck TV streaming?  It cost $5 a month.

My wife received an email early last month about Glenn Beck, that he was going over to Israel to preach in some sort of temple there to defend Israel.

Mormons believe they become gods when they die.

There is a good chance that Glenn Beck could be an antichrist.  My wife had a whole bunch of stuff that this "trip to Israel" caused her to look up, talk about what the antichrist will be like when he comes, and a lot of it could be fulfilled by Glenn Beck.

That being said, personally I will not be watching.

Wednesday

You are not by yourself and Glen is not the only one talking about these things.

I talked w/ a woman at the shooting range just a day go ~ gun sales are up.  My next purchase, I'm considering a shoot from the hip shot gun, but I've always loved an over/under barrel.  The concealed pistols will have to wait till I make the decision as to if I'm staying in NC or SC, currently I'm close to the line and it will be a few months till my decision is made.

Important, make sure you buy lots of ammo, without it, your guns are useless. (strange, but some folks forget this part).

Well, the economy looks pretty bad---I'd say the US is going the way of the Roman Empire. Weakened through internal rot and corruption, our nation will be easy prey for the barbarians. Mexicans, Moslem Extremists, Chi-coms--- people who have envied or hated us for decades will swoop in like vultures on a dying animal.

Palmtree77

Concerning Glenn Beck's Mormonism, if you go by the Letter then yes he believe every single thing a Mormon believes.

I do not get that, I believe he is mixed up like a lot of us concerning what he thinks he is following and that he operating after Patriotism and not religion when it comes to this event that I will be watching.

He's noble in doing what he's doing and that is great.

You are doing right I believe if you walk by Faith, don't let Glenn scare you.

These things must happen before the Lord comes, but we still can pray for mercy and time to bring more souls into the harvest.

I believe we have a couple of decades before the true end comes.

Question -  Is God Unchanging?

Mormon 9:9 - p485 - For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variable-ness neither shadow of changing?
Here The Book of Mormon states God is unchanging, yet their doctrines state God was once a man who progressed to become a God.

"As man is, God once was; as God is, man may be." (LDS Apostle James E. Talmage, Articles of Faith, Ch.24, p.430 - p.431, LDS Collectors Library '97 CD-ROM)

He was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ Himself did.' The Father is a glorified, perfected, resurrected, exalted man who worked out his salvation by obedience to the same laws he has given to us so that we may do the same." (LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, A New Witness for the Articles of Faith, p.64, LDS Collectors Library '97 CD-ROM)

Most Mormons don't know what their faith teaches, and no, I am not joking, though I can't remember all the correlations that she made at this moment.

From MormonInfo.org:
QuoteQuestion: Can human beings become Gods for other worlds as God is God for this world?

Mormon Belief:
Human beings may become Gods for other worlds as God is God for this world.

Worthy Mormons may become gods to create, rule over and receive worship from their own worlds some day. They will do this exclusively as the god or the team of gods for that world or that set of worlds (like the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are for this world or this set of worlds), and thus the God of this world will not perform those functions there (Ibid; D&C 76:50-8 and 95, 132:15-23, 29, and 37; and Gospel Principles, 302 [1997 edition]).

One of the characteristics of the antichrist is that he will present himself as a god.

very interesting replies...no one talked about buying supplies except Wednesday...yes I agree GB can be some what strange specially what he believes about God and Jesus, though to the one who thought Glen could be the anti-Christ, the Mormons believe they become gods after death.

He is very much a patriot, and into government and the constitution, but his next mission is about the God of his understanding and Israel...he did tell people who are going to the Israel event that it will be Christian focused (though I am not sure he is).

Not sure who to trust anymore....I'll keep my eyes on Jesus.

Glen Beck was raised Catholic, is an alcoholic, joined the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) in Mormon at the urging of his daughter Mary. He has been diagnosed with "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder," and he evidently believes in divorce; he is presently married to a second wife. This all sounds conservative to me.

"Beck has described himself as a conservative libertarian,"  (and yet) "In a 2010 interview in Forbes, Beck asserted that his business was not political, but is an entertainment company: "I could give a flying crap about the political process,"

Let's listen to this guy, huh? He advises everyone in politics as entertainment, and as a Mormon he must believe he is becoming a god; no wonder he has such high standards of what everyone else should be doing.

On top of that it may be his reasoning that his righteousness will make him whiter than you; he already believes he righter.

Book of Mormon: Jacob 3:8. O my brethren, I fear that unless ye shall repent of your sins that their skins will be whiter that yours, when ye shall be brought with before the throne of God.

After all this let's follow or listen to this guy.

Well, I can't answer the question about the end of times, as that is hidden from us by God, but we are at the brink of another World War.

There are two groups we are fighting right now in the middle east.  Two ideas at least.  The first is easier to deal with than the second.  I don't believe we CAN beat the second.  The first group are those who just want to rid their countries and nations of western ideas and culture.  They are the ones who scream "death to america" on Al Jezera.  All we have to do to beat them is 1. Kill them, or 2. Pack up and go home. The second group however, are soon going to be the strongest force on the planet.  They are those who see the world as something to be won for Islam.  The Caliphate is their only goal.  To beat them, we must kill each and every one of them.  Genocide is our only option, and it's a horrible option.

Revelation tells us that we will loose this war if indeed it is the end of days.  We will fall to their rule under a one world government and be hunted down and killed as infidels.  Only then will Jesus return.

I don't see the west winning this war.  Not just because the bible says we won't, but because we, as a society, have lost the ability to kill and our enemy has not.  As a warrior myself, I will stand and fight to the death for my friends and family, not to mention my religion; but can you kill a man?  To win, you will have to.

This war won't just be fought on their soil.  Even now they are trying to infiltrate our borders.  Last year nearly 100 people were caught crossing the southern border into this country who were traced back to violent jihadist groups in the middle east.  They have made agreements with the Mexican cartels (terrorists in their own right) to trade heroin for smuggling themselves into this country over the Mexican smuggling routes.

What's worse is that while we are going further and further into debt, we keep sending more and more money into the hands of the very people we will soon be at war with.  Imagine how the second world war would have turned out if we had paid for Hitler's tanks and trained his soldiers before the start of the war.  That's exactly what's going on here.

We're getting into a huge mess, and I don't think the rest of the world sees it.  I just want to scream at people when I hear things like this.  Or how China and Russia are making stronger and stronger alliances with the middle east.  Two of our oldest advesaries are getting closer and closer to the biggest threat in the modern world, and the only real allies we have are India (depending on who launches first, they may take out packastan and be around long enough to be a HUGE help) and Brazil (they are looking for a good reason to take Chavez out already)  Japan won't be of any use once China invades, South Korea won't last a month against the north/china invasion, and most of europe is just either too broke to fight or too liberal to even consider going to war again.

Where is our Pope Urban II?

Even sinners and people with strange beliefs can be good leaders or promote good ideas.  We always want to put people in which we agree with or listen with in this high moral esteem.  In reality, you can gain knowledge through anyone.  He is a huge Israel supporter.  I have only been watching him for the past six months, but he has never promoted his specific beliefs.  He promotes the general beliefs that every believer should have which is, stand with Israel.  Again, I only know of the recent Beck but he has been pretty much on the money.  No, he did not come up with the end times beliefs that he has, but he does fully support what he now knows.  He has not portrayed that his righteousness makes him more right than other people.  He believes in simple yet fundamental ideas:

"Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Bonhoeffer has also stated, "Many people are looking for an ear that will listen. They do not find it among Christians, because these Christians are talking where they should be listening. But he who can no longer listen to his brother will soon be no longer listening to God either; he will be doing nothing but prattle in the presence of God too. This is the beginning of the death of the spiritual life ... One who cannot listen long and patiently will presently be talking beside the point and be never really speaking to others, albeit he be not conscious of it. Anyone who thinks that his time is too valuable to spend keeping quiet will eventually have no time for God and his brother, but only for himself and for his own follies."

I believe our purpose is to spread the word of Yeshua to other people.  I do not believe in the OSAS doctrine, but I also do not believe that works get us into the Kingdom.

It seems very convenient to make as if you're supporting Israel for laying the groundwork of future conquest; near like a Trojan horse. You really don't believe the antichrist is going to show his true colors until the middle of the week of tribulation, do you? According to Mormonism, he probably already believes he is whiter than you just because he feels as if he is more righteous-er than you.

Do you think Jesus is in trouble for supporting Rome by paying tax to them? Couldn't He have had twelve legions of angels come and just wipe them off the map? As you quote, "Not to act is to act."

Hey, did you know that Satan is one heck of a leader? Ready to follow him if the plan is right?

I hope you know the orgins and context surrounding this quote.  Anthropomorphism aside, this is not a stand alone, timeless, non-contextual quote like many of the ones from Ha Shem/Yeshua.  Do you believe the quote was not sound for the situation it was addressing?

Biblically, Glen Beck cannot possibly be the Antichrist.  Without knowing the Bible, we could fall victim to a false leader.  This is why the Bible tells us a lot about this figure.  It tells us who he fights with, how he leads, and what he does while he leads.

Saying probably is not grounds to paint him with an unconfirmed viewpoint.  Lets see what he does during his trip to Israel.  I am pretty confident that he will not be doing anything in the manner in which someone here thaught he will or could possibly do.

You're right, Christians today are way too passive. The Knights Templar are rolling over in their graves.

It's not just Christians, it's the whole western society, both Christian and non-Christian.  The only people on "our side" who seem to still be socially capable of fighting total war are the Israelis, and that's just because they have to.  They're surrounded on all sides by people who want to wipe them off the planet.

Christians however, are the most under-prepared of all.  Not that non-christians are more ready to fight, but that if we lose, WE are the ones who will be hunted down and killed, so we should be MORE ready than those who will just face forced conversion.

Our problems as Christians is that we've forgotten half of what the bible tells us.  We've become so comfortable and PC that we, ourselves, have become the very Pharisees that Jesus rallied against when he said that it was easier for a man to move a mountain than for one of them to remove one line from the law.  They were so worried about looking correct, that they had completely missed the point.

We now are so concerned with being nice and polite to each other (Jesus was neither of these) that we forget to follow Christ.  When we became the "silent majority" we lost control of our society and allowed sin to run rampant in our lives.  Just look at the media; it's all sex, drugs, and sin.  We make up more than 90% of this country and yet we allow a %.07 fraction of athiests to dictate what we teach OUR children.  All because we're supposed to be nice to them.

Being nice is wrong!  Stand up for yourself, or you will lose!  And losing the war that will come next WILL mean losing your life, and maybe even more.  Remember, it's not those who know Jesus's name who get into Heaven, but those who's name is known to Jesus that get in.  Don't let yourself be unknown by sitting quietly and denying Jesus by your actions.

Our enemies do not deny their God.  They hold their prophet in such high regard that if you show a likeness of him, they kill you.  THAT is faith.  They believe so strongly that they kill sons and daughters for adultry or homosexuality.  Sure, it's misguided faith, but it's a STRONG misguided faith.  You can't beat faith that strong with half hearted "I'll go to church, but I won't say anything" faith...

Jesus told us to sell our nets and buy swords.  There has never been a time in the Christian history when swords were needed more than now.  Our faith is facing extinction, both from those who simply hate all faith (athiests in our own society) and those who worship a false god (islam).

I'm personally not big on the end times.  I will honestly admit that it is not my strong point.    I wouldn't mind being informed.

As for Israel and the Jewish people, why don't you tell me how they come into everything.

Amen!

And a big AMEN to that!  I agree 100%, you hit the nail on the head.

(PS I love Glen Beck and he has my support, the others are free....so far....to think what they will)

JohnDB

What I do find amazing is that Glenn Beck will receive a raise in pay for becoming a cancelled television program. (ratings are tough)

With all of the subscribers paying him for his broadcasts as has been told here there are enough of them that the end result is somewhere in the millions more for a paycheck in the next year.

Granted the show's supporters will be paying his paycheck...plus any advertisers that will pay him some more...and Glenn will have to fork out some of that money for salaries of those that help him produce his show....

And the long term success of the show is in doubt.

I seriously doubt that the guy will be any kind of Rush Limbaugh ten years from now or even five.  But in the meantime he does make for some headlines.

I hope he stashes some of that cash.

And about the gold....
if money becomes worthless...then most likely the gold will be worthless too.  The food or fuel you have stashed will be worth a lot more.

As before, things that have a long shelf life and are high in calories will be of high value...also spices will have great value...and medicines.

I do not plan on being here for the following circumstance, though I know individual areas of the world experience dire problems with food at any given time. Makes me wonder how people's stash fared in North Dakota when water rose seven feet above their house tops which might be similar to the hoards of people that will go house to house taking from those who have stored provisions because they are starving. How many guns and ammunition can one have to avert that? How many hours a day can a person stay awake on guard against that; would it be as profitable as shooting at the rising waters? And then would hoarding be considered loving your neighbor as yourself? Are any going to have plenty and observe the child up the street going hungry?

Revelation 6:6  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

JohnDB

The "penny" is actually the issue.

A penny was a days wages or a weeks...can't remember the equivalent.

Either way it was enough wheat to feed one person or enough barley to feel a small family...just barely enough.

KInda doesn't read the same in today's languages.

But then again I have a weird view anyway...

I think I would love to be martyred for my faith...to go out in a blaze of glory for God would be awesome.

Unfortunately I will probably go out stupidly...like slipping on a bar of soap in my bathtub....or tripping on a garden hose...or holding on to a wire and someone unknowingly re sets the breaker and my last word was @#$%@#$

hey, I ain't perfect...I am a construction worker.  ::tippinghat::

I wouldn't trust a Mormon. Alex Jones is much better. Hell, Beck pretty much copies everything Alex Jones says and does 6 months after he says it.

It's obvious that some that have posted have not watched the show, so I'm rather puzzled as to how someone can criticize something that they uninformed about?

Beck has said on just about every one of his shows to make sure you have enough for your neighbors plus some.  He personally has given tons of food as gifts on the holidays and laughs at how his family and friends make fun of this.  His generosity is more than most that have money, and I have no doubt that much of the money he makes will be used for good.

Glen Beck is all for feeding those that are ignorant as to the things that are to come and making sure he is stocked up and telling other people to stock up for those that do not save.

He is a good man, calling him bad because of his faith is like those that criticize the catholics because of the way they believe, which happens here often.  Judge not least ye be judge, there will be many in heaven of all faiths.

First of all if we read were Jesus said to 'Judge not, that ye be not judged', Mat_7, and look at it in context of the whole passage we see He is talking about unrighteous judgment.  We know that there are some things we are to judge as Paul expands on the type of judging Jesus is talking about:

And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 1Co 6:3  Do you not know that we shall judge angels, not to mention the things of this life? This shows us that we are to judge but we are to judge the fruit of the person and not use hypocritical judgment as Jesus tells us in Matthew 7: Mat 7:20  Therefore by their fruits you shall know them. So yes we are to judge righteously and by the fruits of the other person.

I apologize if I have misunderstood you but if by 'there will be many in heaven of all faiths' you mean christian denominations then I would agree but if you mean 'faiths' as in non Christian faiths such as the Muslim or Hindu then I disagree.  Jesus tells us there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus: Joh 14:6  Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. And Paul tells us how we do this in Romans: Rom_10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  If they confess and believe this then they are now of the body of Christ and therefore Christians so there will be no one of a false faith in heaven.

Beck along with  satan   want  to make more people Mormon ..

I could understand your point (Kind of) if Beck was trying hard to promote his faith but he is not doing that.  He is promoting standing with Israel.  You should probably back up your one liner with tangible facts and/or evidence.

Beck is a KNOWN  lier AMONG Lutherans he called Luther Anti-Semetic..

I could see my self getting just as angry as luther over unbelief and teaching the awful stuff those unbelieving jewish persons were promotting .. i think i would have said worse things even and taken a club to them PERVERTS..

Anti semetic  Means a person hates  all Jewish people  them selves..

its easy to prove Beck wrong . just check out who Luther admired among the apostles the most .. also check out what Luther said about God and who was amoung Luther's best friends.

Also check out who Luther was concerned for who it included in his last prayers..

Luther was the friend of the Jews not Beck Luther knew THE REAL  Jesus AND THAT HE is the only way..

Luther wanted the Jews to know the real Jesus and be saved..

Beck just says what people want to hear..

beck  tells you to save up food ..

but  just
Try hoarding this food in extreme emergency .. and see how long you keep it ..
THE local  GOVERNMENT WILL COME IN AND TAKE IT BY FORCE,, if neccesary

FOR THE GOOD OF ALL..

instead --try trusting Jesus in all things ..Not what you can do.

and yes if calamity strikes

Jesus just might want you to be the ones hungry to ,,how much a better witness than one suffering to..

or do you think a fine fat belly when ever one else is hungery gives you the right to preach about Jesus  to them?

Indeed, that is a strange view to hold.  I would rather die a martyr than slipping on a bar of soap sure, but before I chose either of those options, I'd ask my enemy to be the martyr.  well, "ask" may not be the correct word here, but you get my point...

Why die for a cause when you can live and continue fighting for it?
