Valedictorian Rejects Censorship, Recites Lord’s Prayer

In what’s being called a victory for freedom of religion and freedom of speech, Roy Costner, the valedictorian at Liberty High School in South Carolina, tore up his faculty-approved speech and instead recited the Lord’s Prayer. He reportedly was protesting the school district’s decision to no longer include prayer at graduation ceremonies or allow students to refer to God or religious terms because of protests by atheists.
