Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and no legs. Growing up, he was tormented by the children in his school for his deformities. As a teenager he was suicidal and couldn’t stand his life. But that’s not the Nick of today!
Today Nick preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ to large crowds and in the video above was given an audience by Oprah Winfrey to share his story of submitting to God’s will and learning that because he mattered to God, he really and truly mattered.
In fact, Nick tells Oprah that it was 5 realizations that got him to where he is today:
1. Nick said, “The chemistry I could not change, but what the enemy tried to use for bad, God used for good” (Genesis 50:20).
2. “Until we learn that we are all wonderfully and fearfully made from God, we are trapped in chains” (Psalms 139:14).
3. “All things come together for the good of those who love him.” (Romans 8:28)
4. Nick learned that he could either be angry for what he didn’t have or thankful for what he had. He listed being blessed with amazing parents as something he was thankful for.
5. “Do your best, and God will do the rest.” He concluded with, “Because I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ and the renewing of my mind, I knew that I could be unstoppable.”
He then went across the stage to the arms of Oprah, who was repeating, “Amazing, amazing.”
What a great example of faith and an amazing opportunity for this strong brother in Christ!
